Ground Zero and The Firefighters' Memorial

Our 2nd day continued as we made our way from Trinity Church to Ground Zero. At this point, Ground Zero is basically a barricaded construction site. There is a walkway next to it with a viewing area where you can see over the barricades to the actual spot. There really wasn't much to "see" there, but the reality of the tragedy of that day was evident.

(if you click on this picture you
can see a billboard of the future of
Ground Zero.)

Across the street from Ground Zero is Firehouse 10.

The front of the Firehouse held this
memorial to the firemen who
became heroes that day.

The entire length of the mural had
names listed under it of those who
fell that day.
