Lady Liberty

Our second day continued with our visit to Battery Park to catch the ferry over to Liberty Island. There was a quite a long line for the ferry, but plenty to keep us entertained as we waited.

Meagan and Kimberly had fun singing
and dancing with this gentleman
playing his steel drums.

Pretty Flowers...

This man was preaching
the gospel to a "captive"
audience as the line made
it's way by him.

After about a 40 minute wait, we finally boarded the ferry and headed across the harbor to get up close to Lady Liberty.

As the Ferry pulled in
closer, we got our first
up close glimpse...

There is an observation
deck at the top of her base.
We did not go up. You are
no longer allowed to go all
the way up.

skyline in the background.

Next stop.... Ellis Island
